Ian Schrager is an entrepreneur, hotelier, and real estate developer associated with the creation of boutique hotels. He gained fame as co-owner and cofounder, with Steve Rubell, of nightclub Studio 54 in and then the Palladium in Bob Colacello, a special correspondent for Vanity Fair, was the editor of Interview magazine for 12 years and is the author of several books, including /5().

The subject matter should be utterly fascinating, and you'd have to go some way to make Studio 54 seem dull, but this book manages it. It has no reportage qualities and you don't get the feeling that you are up close and personal with the patrons nor getting a taste of the atmosphere because the photos are so utterly artless and the book so comparatively slim when viewed alongside other books /5(27).

To celebrate the nightclub’s 40th anniversary this year, co-founder Ian Schrager looks back to the Studio’s history with a new coffee table book, out now, and an upcoming documentary to be released at the end of the year." —Refinerycom.

Studio 54 was the best club to escape the first and experience the last two of them. This large book covers all aspects of the club. It even included it's floor plans, decorations and renovation.

I've quite a lot of books on Stu but this one is the most extensive with many new photos. Very interesting and well worth the money/5().

In its brief month lifespan, Studio 54 amassed a collection of secrets and stories that is now the stuff of legend. It was a place of great exclusivity, but also a place where one went to be Author: Elizabeth Griffin.

In an introduction to the book, Persson describes the method he used to capture the swirling lights and frenetic.

New Studio 54 book features photographs of Diane von Furstenberg, Karl Lagerfeld, Diana Ross, Mikhail Baryshnikov and more. Studio 54 is the one nightclub from the '70s everyone remembers. For most of his life, though, co-founder Ian Schrager has wanted to forget it.
